Diabetes is a common disease that develops, due to a hormone  insulin imbalance produced by the pancreas. Insulin controls the glucose level in the blood, and how much glucose is absorbed by the cells; which in turn use glucose to produce energy. When insulin is not present in the body or the body is not utilizing it properly, glucose cannot enter the cells, and stays in the bloodstream producing hyperglycemia, or excess of sugar in the blood. Types of diabetes

Type1-in this condition the body produces very little insulin or stops producing insulin for proper regulation of blood glucose. In this condition, the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas called beta cells are destroyed by the body’s own immune system.

Type2 diabetes-it is more common in older people especially among the people who are overweight. Usually it is controlled with the help of diet, exercise, weight loss and oral medications.

Causes of Diabetes

1.  Age: Increased age is a factor which gives more option than in younger age. This disease may occur at any age, but 80% of cases occur after 50 year, incidences increase with the age factor.

2.  Poor Diet (Malnutrition Related Diabetes) : Improper nourishment, low protein and fiber intake, high intake of sophisticated crop are the expected reasons for developing diabetes.

3.  Obesity and Fat Distribution: Being plump means greater than before insulin resistance that is if body fat is more than 30%, BMI 25+, waist grith 35 inches in women or 40 inches in males.

Symptoms of Diabetes

Type I: Frequent urination, amplified thirst, extreme hunger, unexplained weight loss, extreme fatigue, fuzzy vision, tetchiness, nausea and vomiting.

Type II: Any Type I symptom, plus: inexplicable weight gain, pain, cramping, tingling or numbness in your feet, unusual drowsiness, frequent vaginal or skin infections, dry, itchy skin and unhurried healing sores.

Diabetes Diet

1. What you eat. Your diet makes a huge dissimilarity!! You should eat mostly plant foods, cut back on sophisticated carbs and sugary drinks, and decide healthy fats over unhealthy fats.

2. When you eat. Diet is part of it, but custody usual meal and snack times also affects your blood sugar levels and will help to keep them more constant.

Home Remedies for Diabetes

1.  The powder of the seeds of fenugreek (Methi) taken two to three times a day helps control the sugar in blood and urine.

2.  Diabetes can also be controlled when you drink water kept overnight, with tender leaves of guava tree and sadabahar plant soaked in it.

3.  Boil a few leaves each of tulsi (Basil), neem, jamun, bel, along with 4-5 corns of pepper in a glass of water and drink two times a day.

4.  Morning and evening walk for at least 45 minutes is very essential to control this disease.

5.  Eat at least 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder daily.

6.  Consume 1 tablespoon juice of bitter gourd (karela) every morning, It may not instantly give results, but will definitely reduce the intensity of the condition.

7.  Soak fenugreek seeds about one teaspoon in water at night, drink that water in the morning and chews and eat the soaked seeds. This helps reduce the blood sugar.

8.  Take 15 fresh mango leaves and boil them in 1 glass of water. Keep them overnight. Filter and drink the next morning.
